ENTP 542T Practicum-Foundations of Teaching Artistry
Foundation of Teaching Artistry Practicum provides an opportunity for students to further extend the application and practice of teaching skills in the music classroom. Concurrent enrollment in the core FTA course is required. Students enrolled in the FTA Practicum will immerse themselves in 8 hours of integrated observation of group instruction at the El Sistema-inspired music program at Bridge Boston Charter School. Following the observation hours, students will lead the cohort in a discussion summarizing their takeaways and key learnings. At the end of the semester, students enrolled in the Practicum will give a case-study presentation of a socially-focused music education program within the greater Boston area.
