VC 131 Keyboard Skills for Voice Majors I
In this course, undergraduate voice students will learn a basic approach to piano technique, through scales, arpeggios, and melodic and harmonic strategies. The goal of this work is to provide vocalists with adequate piano skills to serve their vocal studies, as well as skills to aid in teaching, such as vocal warmups. Additionally, students will learn the basics of accompaniment reduction and create their own reduction as a midterm project. A solo piece will be performed in the final class.
