INT 510T Arranging and Orchestrating using DAWs

Digital audio workstations (DAWs) have been essential tools for music production for over 40 years, offering a wide range of capabilities to create, edit and arrange musical compositions. Because DAW has been so closely associated with industry-based pop music, in this course we will place particular emphasis on its potential as a tool for contemporary creative musicians who use it in more artistically focused pursuits. In this course students will focus on using technology to enhance their music production skills, with a particular emphasis on creating realistic acoustic-sounding passages using professional-level sample libraries. This course will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to expertly utilize DAWs in the context of orchestration and arranging.
