CLPNO 577 Piano/Vocal Repertoire, German: Early to Mid-19th Century

A study of nineteenth century Lieder in a master class setting. Special focus on songs by Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms. Pianists and singers work together in preparing for in-class performances and presentations. Coachings and discussions focus on matters of German diction, musical and poetic styles, ensemble performance and artistic collaboration. (1 credit for collaborative piano majors; 2 credits for non-majors)
