INTG 534T Music, Movement, and Innovation the Boston Ballet
Premier(e) Studio: Music, Movement, and Innovation at the Boston Ballet This course explores the intersection of innovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship in the context of theperforming arts today. Led by Mischa Santora, music director of Boston Ballet, course participants will be guided through select new works from Boston Ballet’s past, current, and future seasons, illustrating the complex process of new content creation that aims to resonate with today’s audiences. Guest speakers include choreographers and arts leaders from the Greater Boston area, discussing artistic relevance and vision. Designed to be highly interactive, the course includes discussions around the history of music creation with comparisons to current trends and styles. Participants will discuss their individual perspectives on the fast-changing world we live in, while exploring possibilities to express them in artistic ways. All participants will be asked to complete a small creative assignment at the end of the semester, reflecting their own backgrounds and stories. Open to all graduate students and undergraduate students in years 3 or 4.
