GERM 501 German I
This introductory German course is designed for graduate students who have little or no prior knowledge of the language. Using an immersive, communicative approach, the course aims to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, with a special focus on grammar. Students will be introduced to the language and cultures of the German-speaking world through authentic texts and audio-visual material, developing cultural literacies and basic communication skills.
